Warranty
General Warranty Conditions
Warranties do not cover any defects which result from conditions caused by abuse, accidents, alterations, misuse or improper installation. Failure to properly care for and clean products is not warrantied. Please see below for instructions on how to properly care for products. The Limited Lifetime Warranty is extended to only residential dwellings (unless otherwise stated); to the original purchaser and for the window for which the blind was purchased. All products sold by Competition Window Coverings Ltd™ come with a 1 year in-home service warranty from the date of installation, the company will come back to your home to warranty the product. After the 1 year has expired it is the purchasers’ responsibility either to bring the product to Competition Window Coverings Ltd™ or to pay a territorial service call fee to have the company come to them. The warranties do not cover loss of color intensity due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and normal loss of color over a period of time due to wear and tear. The wearing of the cord control will be considered normal wear and tear. Warranty conditions are subject to change without notice. All warranties provided are through the products manufacturer. Manufacturers’ warranties start the date of installation. Competition Window Coverings Ltd™ cannot be held liable for products that are not covered under the manufactures’ own warranty. These warranties do not cover any transportation or installation charges.
Horizontal Blinds
All 1 ”, 2 ” and 2 ½ “ Canadian Blind Mfg., Habitat Blinds and Titan products are guaranteed against original defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product .
Vertical Blinds
Vertical tracks & all their components carry a limited lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship or materials from Canadian Blind Mfg., Habitat Blinds and Titan. . Vertical vanes are warrantied under normal usage against discoloration, excessive twisting and shrinking from Canadian Blind Mfg., Habitat Blinds and Titan. Vanes must be installed 10” above and 5” in front of any electric heater(s). Please note that exposure to direct sunlight causes vertical louvers to temporarily warp, which will subside when no longer exposed to direct sunlight. This characteristic is inherent in all PVC louvers. This warranty does not cover excessive curling, soiling, scratching or fading from use.
Roller Shades
Canadian Blind Mfg. and Habitat Blinds warranty all their shades against defects in workmanship and/or material defects. This warranty does not cover curling, soiling, scratching or fading from use.
Cellular Shades
Cellular shades are warrantied to be free of manufacturing defects under normal use conditions for three (3) years from Jacksons. Habitat Blinds and Shadings provide a lifetime warranty on their shades and five (5) years on the wear and tear of the product. During This warranty period they will repair or replace without charge any part of the shade which is defective in materials or workmanship. Warranty doesn’t not cover soiling or fading from use.
Roman Shades
Jackson Roman Shades are warrantied to be free of manufacturing defects under normal use conditions for one (1) year. This warranty is extended to three (3) years for clutch only operated roman shades. During this time we they will repair or replace without charge, any part of the shade which is defective in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover soiling or fading from use.
Pleated Shades
Habitat Blinds are warrantied to be free of manufacturing defects under normal conditions for five (5) years. Warranty does not cover any soiling or fading from use.
Shutters
All Maxxmar Shutters come with a manufacturers’ twenty-five (25) year warranty. Mandatory submittal of warranty card Registration Certificate required by Maxxmar. Registration Certificate validation must be completed within 30 days, filled in by the installer and home owner.
Screens
Bug Screens come with a one (1) year warranty, guaranteed to be free of defects such as rust. The mesh itself is not covered for damage such as tears caused by abuse to the material after installation. All Aira retractable screens and all Aira components are guaranteed to be free of defects for the life of the product and will be replaced free of charge (excluding labor) under the terms of their warranty card (supplied with every order). Your Aira will never wear, jam or rust. The screen mesh itself is not covered for damage caused by tears due to abuse.
Motorization
Somfy offers a 5 year warranty on all motors and controls. Specifically, Somfy warrants its motors and controls to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal and proper use for a period of 5 years commencing with the date stamped on each product. If the Somfy product fails within this 5 year period, they will repair or replace it free of charge through your end product supplier.
Cleaning and Care
All horizontal blinds or PVC products can be cleaned using mild soapy water, regular water or a duster which can be purchased from Competition Window Coverings Ltd. Fabric material products can carefully be cleaned using a household vacuum with a brush attachment. Do not use any type of bleach product or spot cleaners. To properly spot clean use a soft sponge lightly with a mild detergent.
Dye Lots
All yarns, PVC materials, aluminum materials, fabrics, wood paints and stains are subject to some color variation. Colors may vary on these materials within commercial tolerances and may vary from samples. This applies to all product lines and should be remembered, especially when adding like product to previously purchased products. We cannot guarantee exact matches of dye lots on different orders purchased.
